In his 30's, Tannous moved and began to establish a successful profession in France and
other parts of Europe. He was president to many associations in Paris
where he taught art, had his own gallery and worked with brand names such as Cartier, Bang
& Olufsen, Mercedes Benz, Porsche.... just to name a few.
For over twenty years, his work had been exhibited in countries within and
outside of
Europe.
Tannous,
60, now resides in Montreal, Canada with his family. His distinct style of painting has
made him a very special artist. It is easy to notice that Tannous' work is full of energy, emotions and life. His subject matter is usually simple: flowers,
fields, animals and people. But no matter what the subject is, Tannous
constantly delights art lovers with his use of bright acrylics squeezed directly
from the tube to create whirling and outlining effects. When we look at
Tannous' work, we also see materials like bits of cellophane, glitter and foil. All of these add texture, layers and emotions to the artworks
hence making them unique and different from ordinary paintings.

About Jean Tannous ...
Tannous has been painting since
childhood. With deep influence from his
parents, who were both artistic and talented
individuals, Tannous developed a love of art very
early in his life. His art training in
university and his later career as a university
professor in his native Lebanon, had equipped Tannous to become a true master of art.

The final step is a
special varnish that Tannous uses to seal his
finished painting. As a pioneer of using this
technique since 1982, all his work is protected from
dust and sun while simultaneously produces a glossy effect.
Between the acrylics, the extra materials and the sheen, Tannous' work is a magnificent, rich and colorful
image which reflects and refracts, and continually
altering what we see by day and by night. From
his style and his expression, Tannous' work always
delights, impresses and entertains many art
enthusiasts.
